This launch site is located about 1 mile east of Winslow, IL. There is a cement boat ramp, which could be muddy. Plenty of off-road parking. The site is owned by Stephenson County. We hope to have a picnic table in the shelter house soon.

West of Route 26 on Winslow Rd. A billboard on Winslow road marks this landing which is a cement boat ramp on site owned by Stephenson County. Park of to the side of the road.

West McConnell Road Bridge

A broken cement ramp is 500 ft south/downstream of the bridge on east side of the river (follow one-lane path on top of the dike). Limited parking is available at the launch area, however parking off West McConnel road is available.

McConnell Bobtown Landing

McConnell / Bobtown Landing is 1/4 mile west of McConnell on West McConnell Road. The best launch/take-out site is at the new site of the floating boat dock.

There is ample off-road parking in this new Park. This grassy area is owned by The Lena Community Park District.

This is an unimproved landing. The river bank is steep with large, jagged concrete blocks. The site is owned by the Freeport Park District. There is a bathroom.

There is a cement ramp within the Winnebago County Fairgrounds upstream from the dam in Pecatonica. Camping is allowed in Winnebago County Fairgrounds (with permission) located on the Pecatonica River, Pecatonica, Illinois

Zen Hole/Sumner Park Dam

For experienced whitewater boaters, non-whitewater boaters can can portage on river left (north). At 710 CFS there is a whitewater hole with eddies. Banks are steep and muddy so be prepared to seal launch or put in at Winnebago grounds park boat ramp just upstream.
