Description
Milledgeville BNSF Bridge
Milledgeville, IL

Beginning for several Elkhorn trips, short dirt lane leads from Milledgeville/Polo Road to the creek under the railroad bridge. Beyond the bridge the rest of this dirt road is a gated and posted field, implying that access to that point is okay. Entering off the paved road will feel like you are driving into a farm field, during wetter seasons this lane can be impassable due to mud.

Distances from here:
Lovers Lane, 3.7 mile(Prior to this bridge is very active livestock farm, bridge is heavily fenced, no access to road here)
Sunshine Road, 4.9 mile
Goose Road, 7.2 mile (recommended trip from here)

Goose is a good put in for trips further downstream. The distances would be huge if started from Milledgeville. For example, Science Ridge would be 19.2 miles from BNSF Bridge at Milledgeville.

Goose is the roads name in Carroll County, Burton is its name in Whiteside County.

7.2 Miles to here from Milledgeville BNSF bridge.

Put in here gives access to scenic rock wall area near Pilgrim Road quarry, since Pilgrim bridge is posted no access. Pilgrim is also shown on the USGS map as the site for the depth/data gauge for this creek.

Bridges:
Pilgrim, 3.8 miles
Penrose(part of a nearby farm), 5 miles
Capp, 6.5 miles
Fulfs, 8.5 miles
IL40, too busy for parking, 10.1 miles
Science Ridge(seems to get a lot of use), 12 miles

Science Ridge is a nice full trip, Fulfs second best. Others have access issues, although in this state, your mileage will always vary.
